A “social recovery module” has been discussed for a long time. To start concrete progress on this topic here is a concrete suggestion:
- any Safe (circles identity) adds by default a module that allows the following:
- anyone who is trusted by the circles identity can trigger “recovery”
- triggering recovery means to suggest to add a new key as owner of the Safe
- after triggering recovery there is a 7 (?) day period where the current owner of the Safe can cancel it
- after 7 days have passt another account (not the same as initiated) that is trusted by the Safe can “execute recovery”
