What do you all think of the idea that each person sets their own demurrage rate. Any payment to them, gets that rate.
Long term, CirclesUBI would want to run in a decentralized way computationally, each person their own ledger, rather than on Ethereum or so (this requires solving the multihop coordination problem, and that was done last spring, see here).
Then, a central demurrage rate makes less sense.
If Alice and Bob and Carol and Dave each set their rate, say, X%, 4X%, 2X%, 0%, per unit of time.
Alice pays Carol, gets 2X% demurrage. Carol pays Bob, gets 4X%. Dave pays Alice, X%. Bob pays Dave, 0%.
The idea being the rates would find an equilibrium.
